About the Speaker
Jon Friesen is a principal in the Friesen Group. His focus is working with individuals and organizations in areas of organizational culture, leadership, educational development, and individual growth.
Jon has 47 years of EMS experience in the EMS sector, with a history as both a volunteer and full time EMS provider, operations chief, education chief, paramedic instructor, EMS program coordinator, and academic department chair. He has delivered educator workshops, facilitated change processes, worked actively on
defining the future of EMS education in Kansas, and wrote the curriculum used to redefine the EMS scope of practice for Kansas providers.
Jon has a history of leadership within the government, education, non-profit and for-profit sectors through years as a congregational chair of a large church, long time involvement with the Kansas EMS Association on the executive council, Kansas EMS Region III Council executive board, and performance assessment training in a large, multi-national aerospace company. His work with non-profits has included leadership, performance coaching, employee assessment training, and facilitation of change processes. He has more recently done work to facilitate courageous conversations with non-profit organizations to process changes to fundamental elements of their culture.
In addition to a Master of Science in Organizational Development from Friends University, Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, is a Kansas certified paramedic, and hold certification as a Kansas Leadership Center When Everyone Leads Certified Facilitator.
